Originally from San Francisco, photographer Justin Chung moved to New York to pursue a career in fashion, but somehow ended up documenting the lives of creatives around the city. The result is this wonderful book.
Offering an insight into the daily life of each noteworthy person, Faculty Department manages to capture something both intimate and revealing that perhaps goes unseen when only considering an artist's finished piece of work. Chung's lens documents process, the pain-staking work and attention to detail that goes into creating something both meaningful and beautiful. Produced in collaboration with Studio Faculty, it also satisfies that almost voyeuristic impulse we all have by giving us an insight into the personal stories of each creative and the physical spaces that serve as a backdrop.
